Bride with White TeethGet Whiter Teeth In-Office or At-Home

The Miller Center for Comprehensive Dentistry and Dr. Stephen M. Miller is pleased to offer his patients both professional quality in-office and at-home whitening treatments, including:

  • Opalescence Go
  • GLO Science™
  • KOR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System

Opalescence Go

Opalescence Go includes pre-filled, disposable whitening trays that come inside of your home bleaching kit.  There are no teeth impressions, nor whitening gels to manage with Opalescence Go.  Instead, the whitening tray is self-contained with either 10% or 15% hydrogen peroxide gel (tailored to your situation) that is used to specifically whiten your teeth.  All you have to do is slip on the whitening tray, which is both soft and pliable, and wear as recommended by Dr. Miller.  Trays are typically worn from 15 minutes to 60 minutes per day.  Before you know it, you will have whiter, brighter teeth.

GLO Science™

GLO Science™ is a whitening treatment that can be used in-office or at-home—or both.  GLO uses patent-protected “Guided Light Optic Technology” instead of gels to whiten teeth—and for quicker results.  According to GLO Science™, you’re teeth will be whiter in just over half an hour. A take-home device and whitening brush are also options you should discuss with Dr. Miller to maintain the color of your teeth after whitening.  Our dentists can help you choose the best whitening treatment for you.

KOR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System.

The KOR Whitening System is another tooth whitening treatment option that we offer in our practice.  It includes custom-made, soft, supple white trays that contain self-contained whitening gel.  The whitening gel is, in essence, baked into the trays and will not leech into your mouth or onto your tongue.  But it works! According to the manufacturer of KOR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System, “it is the only recognized whitening system that whitens even tetracycline-stained teeth,” which was heretofore impossible.  Patients will see results within two weeks of whitening.  And get this:  It is the only whitening treatment that is permanent—no at-home maintenance required.

Whitening Advantages and Disadvantages

Like anything in life, in-office or at-home whitening comes with advantages and disadvantages.  The main advantage of whitening includes:

  • Removal of inherent stains from coffee, tea, red wine, or beer
  • Whiter, brighter smile
  • A more youthful appearance

The main disadvantage of whitening includes:

  • Temporary tooth sensitivity

While tooth whitening can cause sensitivity, it typically disappears within a few days.  However, if you choose Opalescence Go, it “contains unique ingredients designed to decrease sensitivity,”* so tooth sensitivity could be less of an issue.  With GLO Science™ and KOR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System, tooth sensitivity, based on research from these manufacturers, is minimized if not eliminated completely.  So you have options.  Dr. Miller will help guide you toward the best whitening treatment for you.
